Enhancing the lives of older people in South Lanarkshire since 1992.

In 1992, LEAP was born out a sense of frustration at a lack of services available for older people in the  Cambuslang area. A group of people, just like you, got together and formulated a plan to meet the needs of older people in a practical and fun way.

Since then the project has gone from strength to strength in South Lanarkshire-  winning the prestigious Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2010, recently becoming the only befriending service in South Lanarkshire for older people to be awarded the Quality in Befriending award in 2014 and more recently receiving our Investing in Volunters award in 2015.

Our History

LEAP prides itself on finding the very best volunteers and staff to carry out the work which means so much to so many people in all of the communities we cover.

Our staff team is formed from an eclectic mix of former public and private sector workers as well as experienced community development workers, all chosen for their passion and dedication to the needs of older people.

We also have over 150 dedicated volunteers working across the organisation many of whom are retired local people who continue to play a key role in supporting people within our community.
