The Hands On Project (HOP), which is part of the LEAP charity, is a project which provides free practical assistance to people over the age of 50 who are experiencing difficulties due to their physical or mental health conditions.  The aim of the Befriending Service is to match volunteers with clients in their own home to provide companionship and a chat, helping older people to feel less lonely and isolated.  The volunteers also assist individuals to become more active in their community by providing support to access local activities, therefore improving social connections, health and wellbeing.  The Handyperson Service, with the assistance of trained volunteers, helps older people by carrying out a range of small repair jobs and tasks around the home to help them remain safe in their own home.

We are Looking to recruit 2 Full Time VDO’s to cover the areas of Strathaven & Stonehouse.
