LEAP welcomes Lottery Fund cash injection of nearly £200,000
The LEAP Project, which helps create lifelong bonds and new interests for older people, has received a cash injection of nearly £200,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.
The charity, which enhances the lives of older people in the community, received the new tranche of funding to support its befriending services and learning and leisure activities for the next three years.
The grant of £199,950 will benefit older people and volunteers across South Lanarkshire.
Announcing the funding Kate Still, The National Lottery Community Fund’s Scotland Chair, said: “This funding announced today will not only help improve the lives of thousands of people in communities across Scotland but also communities of interest who are facing a set of unthinkable circumstances and challenges on a day-to-day basis. It will help projects to inform, educate and build trust so they can begin to change attitudes which will, in time, effect real social change.
“This is all thanks to National Lottery players who are helping communities to thrive.”
