Volunteers strike with a difference

31 January 2023

LEAP’s handypersons team took advantage of a quiet spell in their work calendar to take part in the charity’s inaugural ten pin bowling event with members of staff.

The group took to the lanes of M&D’s Cosmic Bowl in a fun-filled challenge, with the volunteers easily beating the staff - Bruce Robertson winning and Rob King runner-up.

Kevin Key, LEAP’s volunteer co-ordinator, had organised the event as a thank you for the thousands of hours of time the volunteers give every year.

Kevin said: “January tends to be a bit slower in terms of handypersons work so it was a good time to take the team out for a wee thank you and a meal thanks to the support of the teams at M&D’s and the local Toby Carvery

STRIKE ... Volunteers and staff get set to do battle

“The staff joined in the fun as well, and it was good to see people putting faces to names. A wee bit of competition didn’t go amiss either!”
