Coronavirus update

In line with Government guidance, we have been reviewing how we continue to support not only our clients, but our staff and volunteers as well.

This is an update on what services we are currently providing. This may change quickly and we will constantly review this but, as things stand, this is what will happen. We will update this page regularly so please check back for the latest information.

Office closures

Following advice from the Scottish Government we decided to close all of our offices from 23 March, and continue to manage our services through people working from home. The only people travelling will be staff and volunteers delivering those services. Our current services are:

New Personal shopper service

On 18 March we launched our new Personal shopper service for older people in South Lanarkshire who are self-isolating and have no-one to turn to for support. Full details at

Hands on Project

In the interests of everyone involved, and to help limit the spread of the virus, all befriending activities will become phone based for the foreseeable future. We will ask clients if they want to take part in this and then pass on their phone details to befrienders who also want to take part in this.

Our volunteer befrienders can then keep in touch with their matches in this way and be flexible about how they do this – one phone call or many calls per week.

We will also try to arrange a phone-based system for individuals who currently attend groups so those people can stay in touch.

Our handyperson service will continue for emergency work only for as long as possible. This will cover work where clients would be at risk of injury if we did not carry out the work and they had no-one else (family or friends) who could do the work in the first instance.

Learning and Leisure

We have decided to stop all of our classes and activities. We will monitor advice from authorities and review these activities regularly.

R:evolve Recycle

All of our R:evolve shops are closed until further notice. We will continue to take emergency referrals to our clothing bank for as long as possible, but we will not  be accepting donations. All R:evolve workshops have closed.
