In line with Government guidance, we reviewed how we continue to support not only our clients, but our staff and volunteers as well.
This is an update on what services we are currently providing. This may change quickly and we will constantly review this but, as things stand, this is what will happen. We will update this page regularly so please check back for the latest information.
Following advice from the Scottish Government we closed all of our offices from 23 March, and mostly manage our services through people working from home. Our current services are:
Hands on Project
In the interests of everyone involved, and to help limit the spread of the virus, all befriending activities became phone based for the foreseeable future. We asked clients if they wanted to take part in this and then passed on their phone details to befrienders who also want to take part in this.
Our volunteer befrienders then kept in touch with their matches in this way and be flexible about how they do this – one phone call or many calls per week.
Our handyperson service will continue to help where it can although our focus may be on emergency work so please bear with us. This will cover work where clients would be at risk of injury if we did not carry out the work and they had no-one else (family or friends) who could do the work in the first instance.
Learning and Leisure
We have decided to stop all of our face to face classes and activities and provide online classes for now. We will monitor advice from authorities and review these activities regularly. In the meantime we will provide whatever activities we can, such as bingo and quizzes, over Zoom. Call 0141 641 569 for details.
Our Cambuslang shop has re-opened on reduced hours and we are accepting donations through our drive-through service. Check www.revolve-recycle.co.uk for details. All R:evolve workshops have closed.
