Generous Gulf customers come to the four for LEAP

Fourth donation in 18 months shows how much drivers support local charity

For the fourth time in 18 months Gulf customers have donated their Oomph rewards points to LEAP and earned the charity £1,000 as one of the top 10 in the UK.

Gulf announces its top charities every quarter and, in the past six quarters, LEAP has been in four top 10s – the only charity in the UK to do so.

Gerry Welsh, Certas’ retail marketing manager, said: “In a year where grass roots organisations and local charities have been struggling for funding, we are delighted to have distributed more than £60,000 to charities such as LEAp thanks to the collective efforts of Gulf forecourts across the UK, their staff and customers.

“The versatility of Oomph – giving drivers the opportunity to give their rewards to a garage’s nominate charity – allows forecourts to engage more meaningfully with their customers and forge even closer links within their communities.”

Accepting this latest award, Gilly Feron, LEAP’s Chair, said: ““We can’t thank Gulf’s customers enough as their support has helped us continue our services through this pandemic

“This time round we will use this money to buy equipment for our learning and leisure programme to help older people become active again as restrictions ease.

“To receive this sort of money four times in the past 18 months says much about the staff and customers at Gulf Cambuslang.”
