Learning and Leisure

LEAP was set up by a group of older people fed up with having nothing to do. So they did something about it.

And their spirit lives on today through our learning and leisure programme covering subjects as diverse as New Age Kurling, singing groups, Tai Chi, languages and IT.

Our activities are limited due to Coronavirus. Check our update page for details. But that doesn't stop us getting together virtually. Find out how you can unlock your Christmas with LEAP in our Christmas Catalogue, out now!

In the past year alone more than 1,300 people took part in our

activities, which take place in Cambuslang, Rutherglen, Hamilton, Strathaven and Stonehouse.

One area proving extremely popular is our IT classes. Digital

exclusion is a real issue for older people, particularly in rural areas.

We believe giving older people digital skills will promote inclusion and make a positive difference to their lives. They can help people

manage their health and wealth, follow their interests and keep in touch with family and friends.

Our current activity list covers:

  • Art classes - Cambuslang, Hamilton and Whitlawburn;

  • Badminton - Cambuslang;

  • Card making - Cambuslang;

  • Digital skills - Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Stonehouse, Strathaven;

  • Keep fit - Cambuslang:
