LEAP’s activity programme restarts as restrictions ease

The start of February brought more than the end of the January blues to LEAP’s Learning and Leisure members - it also signalled a return to the charity’s activities programme for 2022.

The charity had postponed all of its activities for people aged 50 and over until restrictions surrounding the Omicron strain had eased and people were allowed to gather indoors again.

Until the end of January, only LEAP’s online singing group had been able to “meet”, but that changed with a return to a whole range of activities from Tai Chi to Card making and IT support to Table tennis.

Lysanne Erlings, LEAP’s new adult learning co-ordinator, said: “It was quite a wrench having to postpone our activities just before the festive season, and I know a lot of our members were very disappointed.

“However, we now have our full programme starting up including activities such as our art classes and android tablets IT support.

“It’s really great to see everyone getting back together and I hope new members will come and join us. They will be more than welcome.”

Details of LEAP’s full programme of activities are available at www.leap-project.co.uk/whats-on or by phoning LEAP on 0141 641 5169.
